Cosmetic Fillers For Wrinkles
If you have wrinkles, there are options other than just accepting them. One involves the use of cosmetic fillers. Also called dermal fillers or injectable fillers, these are substances that get injected into the skin. Some last for a few months. Other can last over a year. But they are not perfect, so make sure you have done your research before considering them. Facial fillers can be used for different types of lines, including frown lines or parenthesis lines around the mouth, and crow's feet around the eyes. Many fillers use hyaluronic acid. This is a substance that is found in Restylane, Juvederm, Captique and Perlane. All these fillers last for about three to four months. They are not cheap. The cost varies depending on where you live and who your cosmetic surgeon is. Generally the cost is between $500 and $900 for a syringe. Collagen is another type of cosmetic filler that has been around for awhile. Results with this also last for several months. There are also longer-lasting wrinkle fillers. These are made of different chemicals. Sculptra or NewFill is one such filler. It can be used for more than wrinkles, including hollowed areas. Radiesse is also a long-lasting filler, as is ArteFill. These types of wrinkle fillers are more expensive. They cost between $1000 and $2000 for a syringe. The number of syringes depends on how large an area is being filled. Cosmetic fillers are being used in different ways. They are being used for so-called crow's feet or wrinkles around the eyes. They are being used for frown lines or marionette lines around the mouth. They are being used to fill in lines and wrinkles in the forehead and neck. Some fillers are used to plump up areas on the face as well. Although dermal fillers might seem like a cure-all, they do have risks. It's not only doctors who are using dermal fillers, but you need to make sure that you use someone qualified, such as a board certified cosmetic surgeon. You can have an allergic reaction to cosmetic fillers. The reaction could be severe in some cases. If you do not see a qualified cosmetic surgeon, you may wind up with scars, lumpy skin or uneven areas. After an injection, there will be swelling and redness. If it does not subside, contact your doctor. You will also need to find some way to pay for cosmetic fillers, as they are not covered by health insurance. Since the results generally don't last forever, the price could add up.
