If you are looking for perfume, whether you are a woman looking for a signature scent, or a guy buying his mom's birthday gift, you'll have to know how to shop for them. Knowing the ways to circumnavigate around the crazy world of smells out there is important in getting you the exact aroma you want and having no regrets about buying it. I'm sure that some people, mostly guys, will have no idea where to even start when entering the perfume shop. So, for their sake, here are some tips that can help: 1) First, get an idea of what kind of perfume you want. That depends on the person it's for. If you are a man, you will want a rough masculine smell and if you are a woman, you will want a lighter and attractive one. If you want to be noticed, you will want a strong-smelling perfume. You can even get samples from magazines for inspiration. If you are totally stuck, ask a friend's help and find one that has no problems being honest with you. 2) Next, you will need to find the best perfume shops around. Your best bet is shopping malls. However, if you are on a tighter budget, you can always buy from hypermarkets and the like. There is also no harm in entering specialty shops where they make their own perfumes. You don't have to always opt for the big brands. 3) When at the perfume shop, ask help from the assistant. Explain to them the situation, whether you are looking for perfume for yourself, or for someone else. If it's for someone else, is it for a man or a woman? What kind of person is it for? These are probably the questions they will ask you and it's best to have the answers ready. 4) Try on many scents before you decide. They may all smell nice, but try assessing them on different aspects, such as the strength of the smell, the color, the bottle and of course, the price. Once you are satisfied with your choice, buy the small bottle. That way, you wouldn't waste so much money if you regret your choice. They say the smell you exude portrays your personality. On that note, you should find a scent that shows people of your true nature and self. I've had troubles with choosing right perfume or for my personal use or a gift for someone else.
